Honestly couldn't remember if I had blocked anyone or not. Went and looked. Turns out I put 1 person on ignore years ago.

Go to your profile
Click on the "Buddies/Ignore List" tab
Click "Edit Ignore List"
Type the name of the member you would like to ignore and click "add"

As an aside, "new Chico" continues to amuse. Now he's a Bulls fan who rarely agrees with rocket and doesn't know how to put someone on ignore.

Cheekz, you're referring to a picture of bathroom doors that simply evidences the widespread government-sponsored segregation policies that existed across the country as recently as a generation ago? I can see how such a truth would be distressing to your worldview. I'd never put you on ignore, by the way, I find you the second-most entertaining poster on Scoop!

1 - but I usually end up just reading the posts either through quotes in others' posts or because I'm a moron and just end up clicking "show me the post" anyway.
As a (related) aside, how many "fictional characters" are there on scoop? I don't just mean anonymous which is standard for message boards, but I mean posters who either pretend to be someone else or intentionally alter the information they provide about themselves or the way they post/their writing voice to take on a "character" ala a poor man's pftcommenter.

I have no one on ignore (terrified to know how many are ignoring me), but I'd be curious to know how many screen names on Scoop are owned by the same real life user. Also be curious to know how many people have come back as a new user(not just changed names like we do for key recruits) and who has come back as a new user the most times.

I'll never ignore someone, because I disagree with their stances/beliefs/arguments etc. I have what I think are several incarnations of the same person on ignore, because in my opinion they are clearly a troll, trying to get a rise out of people. That I will ignore.
In the past I had ignored two other people (removed them), not because of anything they did/said, but because I had a hard time controlling myself in avoiding getting into drawn out arguments that bring out the worst in me (my problem).
Still working on the latter, but no longer ignore those people.

I had a problem with my profile, so I had to create a new one with a new name. But, under the new name, I let everyone know who I formerly was known as.

I don't use Ignore for the same reason that I watch shows with George Stephanopolis or anything on CNN. It's important to understand how others think. The MU diaspora that is represented by Scoop has many diverse and interesting points of view. It is to be celebrated!!!
