Well...
...That didn't go as planned. We'll still have to shut down again (still on the old server), but wasn't going to stay closed for the Villanova game.
Which means, "The speed of MUScoop" may still be a problem.

Random story. One Halloween a few years ago, I saw a guy walking down the street dressed as C-bass. So I shouted out "kick his a$$, C-Bass." And he turned around and shouted back "F*ck yeah!" One of the most subtle, underrated costumes that I have ever seen (he had the outfit down to a t).
Great times. I love Halloween. I love that movie.

At one point, we were using some ghetto chat room that was horribly public. And it allowed video chatting. So we'd have a whole plethora of weirdos jumping into our gameday chats.

Just fixed a nameserver misconfiguration - so if you've been popping between the old and the new server, that should be resolved correctly over the next few hours.

Hmm...I assume you're just getting "can't find server" or something like that. If so, it should resolve itself in a bit. If you're getting to the page, but it's not loading correctly let me know.

That's exactly how I try to resolve computer issues. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I've got roughly the same success rate as quite a few IT people I've dealt with, so...

Interesting tidbit. When I go to the home page, it say I am not logged in, I get all the ads and the "please register" message. But without logging in, if I click on Hanging at the Al or any of the other boards, I am all of the sudden logged in.
It's a non-issue, doesn't affect me, but figured I'd bring it up in case it's something that needs to be fixed.

Hah. I guess it sounded like a cop out, but in Newsy's case it is THE solution. Our new server has a new IP address. Changing server IP is like a game of telephone with multiple seats around the word. You tell one guy your new IP, and it starts going around the circle, but it still takes a long time for the last guy to be notified of the IP address change. Of course, I made it worse because I messed up an entry that still pointed to the old server. So the two different addresses were circling around the telephone game infinitely....
edited: I can't currently find a server reporting the old address, so it should work now. If not...
Airplane Mode completely disables all network connectivity until you turn it off and has the side effect of flushing the DNS cache of the iPhone. Go to Settings and turn ON Airplane Mode wait 5-10 seconds and then turn it off.

3rd dedicated. We had a brief stint at the beginning where we tried a shared hosting plan. That didn't work well and only lasted a couple weeks until we went dedicated. This is the first time however that we've increased our server capabilities and cut our bills at the same time!
Had to look it up...
Dec 2006 - 4 core/ 1 GB RAM (UGH)
Jan 2010 - 4 core / 4 GB RAM
Oct 2012 - 4 core / 4 GB RAM (Move datacenter from Dallas to Provo)
Jan 2018 - 8 core / 8 GB RAM
So we got a new one 2012, but that wasn't really our choice.

- The server got a little laggy tonight immediately after the game. Did some tweaking, and it should be better now.

It only took me a couple days (cough), but all users can now login to the wiki again with their username and password to edit pages. Have at it (just in time for the season...lots to update)....
