Now if Butler can take care of business the Big East can still give the ACC apoplexy when it come to basketball predominance in the East.

Big 10 was underated and Big East, merely pedestrian, hey?

Crapshoot

When the teams in the ACC or BE are beating up on each other, we tend to look at it and think that they are all goo teams. Well, maybe they are beating up on each other because they are all mediocre teams.

I certainly think that is the case for the ACC  and BE. You had two good teams in each and the rest were vastly overrated. Villanova and Duke were good teams that ran into really bad matchups. Butler and MC moved on.

The rest? Just a crapshoot.

Big 10 doing better than expected.but PAC-12 and SEC doing way better than expected. Big 12 not too shabby either.

People getting into a lather on Big 10 but reality is three other confernces with same or less bids are doing better.

Tournaments - exciting as they are - are poor at determining the best team. Duke is a talented but flawed team, and they got an away game against a team that could maximize those flaws. Villanova is still the best team in the country, but they played a poor game. So, hard to look at conference performance in the tournaments and get any indicators. The Big East and ACC have both been disappointing, but the best metric is teams in the tournament to begin with.
