I guess the Warriors still have a few fans left.

I think your gunna need your eyes checked. Nova wasn't full and was way more packed then the Wisco game. Wisconsin had maybe 1/3 of the upper deck. Im row A in a 400 section and there were 5 other people in the entire section.

No he wasn't.  He asked "the WI game sold out?"

By definition it "sold out."  Whether or not everyone showed up doesn't change that.

I went to the MU ticket office yesterday for two tickets and only a scattering of singles were left at $28 a piece.  Kinda wish I had nabbed them because I'm now on the outside looking in.

Any suggestions as to where I can pick up 2 tix on the street?

I'm thrilled to hear this. I haven't been at a sold-out MU game in a long, long time - but then again I haven't lived close to Milwaukee for a long, long time.

I'll be at the Charlotte-area MU club watching party and we'll have a good turnout and it will be exciting to hear the din of the crowd on TV. I hope Wojo's lads come to play!

We're gonna kick butt, start a nice 2-3-4 game stretch and wrap up a tourney spot before the BET even starts!

Try turners or one of the scalpers at the gate. Try to get scalpers later if you want a chance at missing. Theyll be cheaper when they get scared they wont sell.

I know it's not "the street" but stubhub or MU ticket exchange are also options.

I used stubhub.   Significant mark up, especially in finding 3 seats together.

Free market in action,  baby.

Ticketmaster also sells aftermarket tickets.  It's a pretty simple process for the seller and the take on the seller's end isn't too bad. That's where I sell mine if I can't make it to the game.

Do you not understand English?  A "sell out" is when every ticket is sold.  Period.  You can have a sell out with a bunch of no shows.  But that's not what he asked.
Title: Re: National Marquette Day is a Sellout
Post by: MUBigDance on February 17, 2017, 07:37:05 AM
My 2 cents

The sellout back-n-forth is ridiculous. But everyone has a right to debate the sky is blue I guess.

I have an experience season ticket where they assign the seat 24 hrs in advance. Wonder what I'll get.

If you can get that promo, I think they have something like 100 seats at $100/season. Upside price and 2 seats together, downside seats could be anywhere and can't resell. Our Nova seats were lower bowl.

I'm curious though if tickets that we give to local organizations are counted though. Wasn't depaul doing a bunch of that to boost their "official attendance numbers" even though actual attendance was dramatically lower?

Head up for Senior Day vs Creighton. Only 1,400 tickets left for that game. You can get your tickets at the Bradley Center Ticket office. Save on those ticketmaster fees.

It isn't. One guy asked  directly if it's going to be where  every seat is going to be filled "like the wisconsin game". The next guy then directly asked if "Wisconsin was a sellout" - As in, "every seat was filled" I don't know why its so hard for you to understand, or why you are taking this to level 11. It was a simple question and already answered. Calm it down.

I'll go on record and say there has never been an athletic event in a major arena that has had "a butt in every seat."  So if that's the definition you want to go by for a "sellout" then there has never been a sellout in the history of sports.

IDK the cubs and indians had to have come mighty close. But regardless people are diverting away from the original question on such a major tangent. Johnny B asked if we thought it would be a packed house. Because we've had quite a few "17,000" attendance where half the arena filled. I don't know why everyone is getting so hung up on the word sellout. I guess maybe Johnny B should have realized that someone on the internet would hold him to the exact definition and freak out. Which happened. Lol. Maybe he should have used "actual capacity"

I guess I should never answer a question someone asks. You never know who might take the meaning of the word to an extreme. I just found it hilarious that he attacked me, and not the person who actually asked it. Seeya at the game big boy.

Marquette is quite good at selling tickets under this guise. Last five years, not quite great at getting every one of those ticket purchasers to show up to the game. Whether a full 18,717 show up or a more likely 16,500 show up, let's hope the crowd gives the team a lift unlike their passive attitude during the Butler game.

I am sure the only reason NMD is a night game this year was because it was the only weekend home game in February.

What I am saying is, the reason NMD is a night game this year is because this particular game was the only option on the schedule.  I get how games are scheduled in general.

Generally speaking I think Saturday night games are great and I think we'll see more now that the Admirals don't compete for arena time, but it's less than optimal for NMD.  Something like a 3p start would be perfect.  But not really our call and MU really didn't have another February option.
