He has predicted Joey Hauser and Kobe King to Marquette.I sure hope he is right

Evan Flood also picked Hauser to Marquette. Along with Sam, that hypothetical would be the top in-state player in 2016, 17, and 18. Love to see Wojo land all three, and follow that up with Nobal Days in 2019.

In the cases of both King and Hauser, I'd preach patience. Hauser might pop early with his brother already committed, but unless they really want to get the procedure done with, I could see either of them not deciding for a year or more.

Given that verbals are worth the paper they are written on (see, e.g. NN), I'd just as soon encourage these kids to wait until the fall of their senior year to make their decision.

Mark had King to UW previously. I think the fact he flipped it is more significant than just picking MU outright.

Mark Miller recently tweeted a link to one of his articles on wissports.net about Kobe King and his visit to MU. It's a subscription site so I couldn't read it, but I figure his prediction is based on how his conversation with Kobe went.

Worthwhile read and a good site to subscribe to. Undoubtedly the best source in the state for information on Wisconsin (state of) recruits. He also talked to Ritchie Davis in the interview, King's AAU coach. Impressive enough that Wojo landed Heldt from WPW, landing another Ritchie Davis kid would be impressive. His best players have traditionally mostly landed at Wisconsin.

I hope that we will one day see the NCAA (or whatever governing legal body) prohibit schools from offering scholarships to student-athletes before they are juniors in high school. These are still kids that are growing, developing and maturing - and persuading them to make such a significant life decision at 14, 15, 16 does not benefit the athlete. Too often do early early commitments from high school freshmen and sophomores turn out poorly (whether it is a decommitment, a transfer-out or just a kid ending up at the wrong place).

I think Ryan retiring had a lot to do with this. Right now even if King liked Gard he cannot count on him being named the coach. This is one that could change once there is officially a new coach.

Unless it's already over by then. In regards to 2016 and 2017, this decision to keep Bo can't help their recruiting. Gard doesn't have the authority to recruit as a head coach because by the time a new recruit would come in, the entire staff and players could be gone. Whoever gets the job next spring will have to hit the ground running, especially with 5 scholarship players potentially graduating in 2017.
