Slurpers
Used occasionally prior to 2013, a term for one who is all in on a particular point of view potentially to the exclusion of all other evidence. Gained main stream appeal on Scoop in 2013 when used to describe derogatorily those who supported then Coach Buzz Williams position on just about anything.
Mbakwe
Trevor Mbakwe was another significantly hyped recruit for MU basketball, and looked the part too. Looking much older than 18, built like a tank, and hitting campus during the Chuck Norris craze….it was inevitable. In one of the most epic threads in Scoop history, the Mbakwe meme emerged...fully grown and capable of wrestling two bears with his left arm...and now Mbakwe has been able to accomplish feats of skill that even Chuck would stand and applaud.

No doubt...I'm not sure what surprises me more. That it's somewhat close or that it's close and Mbakwe is trailing.
The only reason willie uses the term "Slurpers" is because Trevor Mbakwe told him to. When Slurpers go to sleep at night, they check under the bed for Trevor Mbakwe. Mbakwe invented Slurpers when he told loyal Mbakwe fans they should back Buzz instead of him after his transfer.

Honestly, even if someone was brand new here and had no idea what the Mbakwe meme was, just read the description. How can you possibly vote against that description?

I do think it is telling though. Those who posted/read in that Mbakwe thread would agree it is one of the greatest posts ever at Scoop. That post isn't that old is it? Like 2008 or 2009? I would like to know those who were here in 2008/9 that voted for Slurpers.

I remember reading the Mbakwe thread while in A Stan. It offered some humor in a bleak place. It was an epic achievement by the Men of Scoop.
