Title: Are The Burger Boys Waiting On Kentucky?
Post by: Tugg Speedman on March 31, 2015, 08:14:43 PM
Is this going to be the new trend?  The top players wait until the spring signing period to make sure their coach still has a job when the season is over and to see which one-and-dones leave and which stay?

Zimmerman, from Las Vegas Bishop Gorman, is one of eight uncommitted players in the game. It’s an unusually high number of undecided players this late in the recruiting process. Seven of those players are ranked in the top 13 in the nation by scout.com (6-10 Thomas Bryant is ranked No. 33).

[Simeon coach Robert] Smith is dead right when he speculates on the reason so many ([McDonald AAs] are still undecided: “I think a lot of them are waiting to see what happens with Kentucky, who leaves and who stays.”

Jaylen Brown, Bryant, Zimmerman and Newman are all considering the Wildcats, so that’s half the group.

“I think all the coaching changes have some kids up in the air still too,” Smith. “There are always a lot of coaches changing spots in the spring, so sometimes it makes sense to wait and see how that all ends up.”

Well, there are always rumors about Calipari back to the NBA.  Gotta wait to let things settle.

Smart.  It's not like all attractive destinations don't have a roster spot for them, or won't make one if they don't.  Confirm the coach they want to play for is staying, the draft entries they need to leave to get playing time go (and those that it would be beneficial to play with stay), see who transfers in and out, then finalize their decisions.

My thoughts exactly. What's the rush?

Henry was named 3rd team All-America by USA Today yesterday. Five of the 15 players on the three teams are still undecided.

Do the uncommitted kids know Wojo will be here for the foreseeable future?
