Too bad. He was in a good situation with Dallas. Getting minutes for a winning organization. Now he goes to a team I hate, in a town I hate even more.

Hope Crowder was not a "throw-in" in order to dump some salary.  He will have tough competition to make the Celtic roster, with Jeff Green, Gerald Wallace and Evan Turner basically in front of him.  Shame, he saw some floor-time with the Mavs and now it is over in Dallas.

I think that's exactly what he was.  His minutes had seemed to shrink this year.  As soon as I saw the Rondo to Dallas rumors, I thought "This has Jae Crowder cap filler written all over it."  Too bad Jae couldn't stick with the Mavs as the 12th man.  Rondo-Ellis-Parsons-Nowitzki-Chandler is a heck of a starting five.  Dallas went from fringe to big time title contender in a hurry.

Agree with all of the above but still excited to have Jae here. I hope he cuts it here. One of his best games was in New England when he sliced and diced UConn for 27 or so. MU has leapfrogged the C's for my basketball heart but I still love the Celts.

Is it to late to just make the playoffs the Western Conference?

The East can play for a consolation prize.

I only follow NBA teams with an MU connection.  I shall now follow the Boston Crowders, formerly known as the Boston Rivers

Hope he gets a chance to show what he can do.

I have paid attention to his minutes that past few games, but I recall him having a stellar game this season, 18 points or something

I expect Brad Stevens will give him a big chance since the Celtics are 27th in D. Jae will provide the D and energy needed off the bench. Also he might be giving Jimmy Butler a call to learn how to improve shooting over the summer. He will make it on the Celtics and grow for next year's season. He's a hungry guy who plays best as the underdog. I would not count this fighter out. The best is yet to come.

Problem is Butler is got the size for his best position.  Jae doesn't.

True, but I am still optimistic. We will see.

This.  I think the Celtics cut him in a few days and he ends up back with Dallas.

I'm optimistic that Stevens will find a good way to use him.  Could be a good opportunity.

Best of luck to Jae, hope he gets his shot.

Fascinated to see how Rajon works out in Dallas.  He has been terrible this year, hard to tell if that's because of the Boston situation, or if he has truly lost it.

If I'm not mistaken, there's a rule preventing this. I think a team has to wait 30 days or something like that before signing a player they traded. I could be confusing it with other rules though.

In what world is 8.3/10.8/7.5 terrible?

My world.  OK, perhaps a better description would be far less great than he has been in the past.  Fair?

He's filling up the stat sheet but can't put the ball in the hoop. Career numbers coming into this season .475/.292/.621 compared to this season's .405/.250/.333.

ADDITION (compliments of Zach Lowe): The C’s have scored at a worse rate with Rondo on the floor for three years running, and they were generally mediocre even at their championship peak. He’s shooting 41 percent this season and a laughable 12-of-36 from the foul line. His turnovers are through the roof, and a disturbing number of them have been unforced. Rondo has coughed up the ball on 32 percent of the pick-and-rolls he has finished this season, the worst rate among all 85 players who have run at least 50 such plays, per Synergy Sports. Dead stinking last.

Do you watch him play?
