So, in case you haven't read the "Leukemia Help" thread (http://www.muscoop.com/index.php?topic=45167.0) long time poster, MUDish's son was diagnosed with Leukemia 8 days ago.
Last night my 4 year old son was diagnosed with leukemia. We're in a suburban Chicago pediatric hospital now.
I'm a wreck mentally and emotionally right now.
Does anyone know if we should pull him out of where he's at and go to a place like St. Jude? We want him to have the best treatment on Earth, but I don't know how to make an informed decision right now.
If anyone has knowledge, advice, help, I'd be beyond grateful.
I know I yell/bitch about football on here, but I love this board, thanks guys, God bless.
I'm opening this new thread to make sure his post on page 3 doesn't get buried.
We don't ask much here at MUScoop central, and we haven't done a solid Al's Run drive in a couple years, so go to their GoFundMe page and fill it up with some Marquette goodness.
http://www.gofundme.com/gzrcnc
Let's do something awesome, support the hell out of our Marquette brother, flood that page with hits and dineros.
... my sister in law did a go fund me page for my son, it can be found here http://www.gofundme.com/gzrcnc or under #bradleystrong.
Thank you all so much again for everything. It's been a hellacious couple days, feels like a game of Russian roulette, one thing turns out positive, but there's four more horrific chances still.
If you're friends with me on Facebook, we lucked out with Jimmy Butler and Doug McDermott visiting us yesterday. Butler said he's working towards his graduate degree soon.
Please keep praying and thinking of us. Couple big days ahead and some very complicated decisions to make.
Bless you all.
Brian

Pin this at the top of the main forum, off topic doesn't matter in this case.
-
Include it on the scoreboard even.

I'm overwhelmed...some of you I've pm'd, some of you I've become friends with on Facebook, but I want all of you to know how much myself, my wife, my children are so incredibly thankful for all of your support/wishes/prayers. If you're on this board, there's a 95% chance you're part of the Marquette community, and the human spirit that this forum/community has shown...to say it's amazing would be an understatement.
Quick update: My son's chemo treatments have started. If you yourself have undergone chemo, or you have a friend/loved one who has...you are a warrior, and god bless you. It's both an amazing thing and heartbreaking thing to witness. The good news is my son's lab work is showing progress. It's a long battle ahead, but his blasts have gone from 43% to 37% to 5% as of this evening. We'll take any positive news we can. My wife isn't on this board, but she is a hero. While I'm scared out of my mind, she's the rock that holds our family together.
When this is all over and we come out victorious, we're coming up to Milwaukee and having a party, and everyone on here is invited. We'll charge it to the Underhill's account.
Heartfelt Thank You,
Brian Godish

Appreciate you sharing this on twitter, brew.

Not to be that guy, but is there any way we can get this under a 501(c)3 umbrella somehow (yet keep all donations earmarked for Bradley)? The reason I ask is that many employers will match donations, thus increasing the fundraising potential of this effort.
-
Prayers are with you and your family Brian. Your son truly is a warrior and I will keep sending my thoughts and prayers your way.
"Give em hell"

52%? We can do better than that.

definitely - my employer will match, and I may be able to get a second match from a separate charitable trust.
-
God bless you and your family, Dish. Stay strong and beat this.

Can we pin this at the top? Don't want it to get lost in the gameday posts.

Same here...... 1 FAMILY MARQUETTE!

Bump because this should always be at the top of the board. Best to you and your family Dish.
-
Posting for the first time in a few years after mostly reading. Can't imagine a better reason to do so. Donated and shared on Facebook. Will keep praying for ya!
-
Averaging about $1k per day.... let's pick it up, Scoopers!
Hoping to seed this through the Chicago alumni club to put some gas under this one hopefully
-
Nearly halfway to the goal after only 9 days - very impressive. Well done, Scoopers.
Donation made.
-
So, here's the bump. Let's get this funded, people.
-
Just donated. I know it wasn't much because I'm still a young alum and don't have much, but still we are all one marquette family.
-
Keep fighting Bradley!
-
If you haven't donated yet, just wait until after tomorrow's game against UN-O and donate the same amount that Marquette scores.
-
Bump 70%.
-
Stay strong, Dish. You the man, 'Port.
-

-
Stay strong guys, our support is with you 100%! A lot of us probably know alums who don't do social, so remember to pass it on via email as well.
