Title: Why no discussion about the 10/24 scrimmage?
Post by: tower912 on October 25, 2014, 08:37:32 AM
No talk of Derrick being held out due to a groin injury?
No talk about Cohen's scary fall into the basket support stopping the scrimmage early?
No talk about Dawson struggling against Carlino's defense
No talk about Duane looking good?

Tsk, tsk, tsk.   There are a couple of posts on the scout board from people who were there discussing the above points.

What I liked the most was JS Reporter Matt Velazquez' multiple tweets. It seems we have a reporter that will be actually reporting on MU hoops. A refreshing change.

Glad there were no serious injuries - we cannot afford any.

The photo's looked like there were very few in attendance.

Did Wojo yell at the players?

It was a bit a bigger crowd, than in past years.

The new MU beat writer appears to be a keeper.

He also has a nice photo from Madness as his Twitter page header.

Was a great write up by him. It's going to be refreshing to have another outlet that provides good commentary on mubb. Will follow on twitter and am looking forward to his future coverage.

Think this season is going to be a bit rough but am looking forward to seeing our guys develop and can't think of another year I've been as excited about. The future looks bright. And I'm a firm believer that Duane Wilson is going to be something special before it's all said and done. Whether he's at the 1 or 2 spots. Along with burton. I also am really rooting for JJJ to break out of his shell this year.

I'm tempering my expectations for this year but can't wait to see how this team plays for Wojo. It's been an exceptional hire thus far. He's made a believer out of me. But I will certainly respect the process and give the guy some time to get things back in order after Buzz disorganized just about everything to do with the program.

I do like hearing that both teams were pressing after made baskets.   That is one way to utilize a smaller, quicker team.   You need complete buy-in and total understanding of responsibilities for several different positions to make it work for a team like MU will have this year.

I just hope that if we suck this season and he reports accurately about our suckage, reasons for our suckage, behind-the-scenes looks at our suckage, etc., folks here don't shoot the messenger.

You want an all-in reporter? It looks like we have one - for better or worse this season!
