Terrible news. Mark was a great teammate and a better person.  The Marquette community will miss him dearly as I am sure all of the students that he has touched will miss him as well.  Anyone who played with Mark will remember that he had simply the best baseline hanging jumper in the history of our campus....  Period.

God bless you Mark.

Got a call yesterday about Mark. Just shocking and incredibly sad.

Thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

Great tribute CH.

Knew Mark a little bit from school.  We last caught up at the Wojo BBQ and chatted while each of our kids were playing in the bounce houses.  3 adorable kids and a great wife.  He seemed really happy as principal of the Shorewood Middle School, which is a great school system.

I just keep thinking of his family - unreal how much life has changed since that night in June.

So sad for them.  RIP.

Really sad to wake up to this news.  Mark was a great guy.  And truer words have never been written than what was posted above.  (Not to mention some of the best hops.)  At 5'8" Mark could throw down with ease.  Raising a glass to "I Elevate"

Tragic news. He used to be my assistant basketball coach when I was in high school at our alma mater. I could tell back then kids gravitated toward him back then. This came as a total shock to me. Anyone have any idea what caused this?

Sad news for the MU faithful.
Mark's quick wit, sneaky smarts, and sense of humor endeared those close to him. His baseline jumper was overlooked by his crazy hops and ability to dunk for a guy standing 5"7.
RIP, Mark. "(U)Elev8"

He choked on something at work, and wasn't able to recover from it.

Brutal.  I don't know how to wrap my head around that one.  Any other details?

Rest in peace.

Wow- he was my year at MU.  Didn't know him well - but was thought of highly by a few friends in common.

Way too young.

Prayers for his family.

My very first day on campus.  I left my room at East heading for 3pm practice.  Mark lived next door.  He was getting on the elevator as well and heading out.  But he noticed my face was red and eyes watered something terrible.  He asked "talk to your folks?"  I actually had just before I left so I answered "yes."  "It's cool" I think he said.  Then it dawned on me he though I was in tears when, in fact, my eyes were killing me as a result of hay fever (mid august, pre-Claritin days).  I did make it known.  But wow.  Mark cared for everyone he encountered regardless.  Such a great person.  Later on, as we were upperclassmen, and his team got a training table in the Union, he would hook me up with dinner if I was "studying" there.  Turns out we also had common friends - those kids I grew up with on Grant Boulevard as a kid.  Man.  I wish we stayed in close contact post graduation.  But he's missed.  Thanks for listening.

I see Chase Bank is accepting donations:  A bank account has been established on behalf of Mark Harris. Anyone can donate to the “Mark Harris Family Fund.” Checks/funds should be mailed or delivered to:

My Pappy always said "it isn't how you enter a room, it is how you leave it."  Mark obviously left it in a much better place. There is a lot to be said by that.  God bless.
