Post by: kira67 on September 29, 2014, 01:00:20 PM
I've interviewed Vander Blue a few minutes ago during the Wizards Media Day. Thought I'd share it with you.

Nice interview by Vander - He was straight up cracked up by the accent of the first interviewer..saw it at the beginning and then at the end of interview.

And to the guy who posted this (I assume you are the first inteviewer) - Thank you for posting, and I am not making fun of your accent or anything - I don't speak a second language and admire anyone who does.

Nervous tick with the leaving early question.  I've only briefly studied body language but I'm pretty sure it shows lack of confidence in his answer or that he's flat out lying.

Thanks for sharing!

I'm glad that Vander mentioned "we" when referring to MU taking care of business but quickly focused his attention to what he needs to do: make the roster.

One thing I'm grateful for is the quality of interviews our current and especially former players give from Wade to Novak to Wes to Lazar to Jimmy. They don't sound stupid but they sound like smart dudes who received good coaching about public relations.

I suppose. I view basketball as entertainment, so I would not be opposed to more of the "kitten money weed" and "hollywood as hell" sides of our players coming out more in interviews. I always root for the heels in wrestling too, so it helps for me to be consistent.

You forgot about Lazar and that gem of an interview about talking to dead people.

If Vanderbilt ever wants to make money in basketball, it will have to be in Europe.

Vanderbilt can make plenty of money right here in the states.....Nashville to be exact. ;)

Uhhh 15,581 seats in Memorial Gym, originally built in 1953. Mostly full even when the team isn't particularly good… my bet is Vanderbilt does quite well, thank you very much.

For the record, I grew up on Vanderbilt basketball and went to Memorial Gym regularly. Next to Marquette, they were the team I liked most. If they're not making money, someone is living very high!

Really? See above. Vander apparently autocorrects to Vanderbilt.

I'm traveling - so I'm using the iPad this week rather than the PC at home. Forget to check sometimes to see what trick autocorrect is up to.
