6-2 PG Bryant Crawford Gonzaga College High school Washington DC offered
-
Apparently he hails from the same high school as the recently-hired Tyler Thornton.
-
Another MOT, hey?
-
Talked with him from an I4 perspective a couple months ago... His Takeover teammate also committed to Minnesota

Will keefe be able to tolerate him at Marquette?
-
He will unless the kid brings Pilarz back with him.
-
Kid's recruitment has been pretty weird. Seems like a lot of schools who seemed to be pursuing him heavily suddenly just dropped him and are no longer making him a priority. He's not that highly rated not sure if everyone decided around the same time that the juice wasn't worth the squeeze or if something is going on behind the scenes, but it's odd that you guys are jumping on, while the schools that were his main contenders are all jumping off.

I guess that word got out that Wojo was about to offer.

We made his Top 7

Interesting given that he is the number 5 PG in the 2015 class and we already have the number 6 PG committed.

I was already retching, Murray...
-
Man this guy Wojo has more offers out than a Hooker at a Shriner's convention. Hopefully we start landing some of these guys. Stone and Ellenson would be nice, but likely a pipe dream.

Sounds like the ship has sailed on Stone. But, I am confident that Ellenson ends up at MU.

My guess is that in a month, this will be a lot more clear than it is now especially in the backcourt.

Some view NN as more of a combo guard who can play both positions in the backcourt.

Now that, Murs...is deep thought.

Tweeted his list down to final...no particlar order
Marquette, Memphis, Indiana, Georgetown, SMU, Wake Forest and Tennessee.

Committed to Wake Forest today. Hoyas let him slip right through their fingers.

I thought this kid was very promising , he is a nice pick up for Wake.

He never wanted to come to Georgetown. He made that abundantly clear since we had been recruiting him longer than anyone. If he was going to come to Georgetown he would've committed before now. There was a chance we would get him by default because he didn't have better offers, but he decided he so didn't want to come to Georgetown that he'd take a worse offer at Wake than stay in DC.
I wouldn't say we let him slip through our fingers since that implies we ever had him.

what makes Wake's offer "worse"?
-
what makes Wake's offer "worse"?
Biased perception. Many of us are guilty of that.
-
what makes Wake's offer "worse"?
The fact that Wake has sucked at basketball the last five years.

Ding Ding Ding.
You can argue possibly better exposure for Wake, but since the addition of the Former BE schools Wake is a second tier ACC school with very little chance to succeed and little history of recent success.
Obviously Wake isn't a terrible and they have two great NBA alumni that can make them attractive and a new coach to be excited about. But for now a top tier BE school is a better offer than a second or third level ACC school. Georgetown is consistently a top 25 team.

Agree with you and not to mention Georgetown a far better school.

Wake is on record stating that it is not interested in paying players (of course, Delany said the same thing). I think wake needs to decide what they want to do athletically since they are a small, private school in a P5 conference. It is very difficult for them to be competitive in football and although they hired Danny Manning for basketball, their alums (like a lot of private universities) are spread out and not part of the local fan base.
-
Wake has the smallest undergrad enrollment of any P5 school (well many others as well). It's hard to fathom but I could almost see them dropping football and moving down in conference some day.

And give up the revenue that the big boys of the ACC are making for them? Not likely. Having a widely dispersed alumni base is still another reason to keep football around to help maintain alumni interest.

Agreed. No way does Wake stop suckling at the football tit.

This is your opinion. I'm confident that you don't know any Wake boosters.

Are they the type to cut off their nose to spite their face?

Hmmm...interesting way of putting it. I know for a fact that there is some push to change Wake from non-sectarian back to its roots of Baptism. And most of wakes wealthiest alums are Baptist. In other words, there is religious money sitting on the sidelines. More money than what sports can bring in since that money is spent every year just to "keep up." Wakes chancellor said they will absolutely not pay athletes. They have less than 5000 undergrads and a $1B endowment. Interesting times ahead for them. You should PM "littleellinson" because she clearly knows more than I do; she must read the bleacher report.

Correct and correct.

Now that's a bit testy.
