Title: Rule Interpretation Threads
Post by: Benny B on August 08, 2013, 10:07:04 AM
How about starting a new category (between the Trading Post and Prediction Board) where we can discuss different game situations and what the correct call is (or should have been)?  Each thread has an OP that describes a game situation - real or speculated, involving MU or not - and the rest of us discuss the applicable rules and whether the correct call was made and/or why it was correct/incorrect (heck... if rules differ at the NCAA level, we could also discuss what the correct call would have been in the NBA or prep level).

I think there are enough part-time referees on this board to give some expertise to the topic, and it would certainly be a public service if we could augment our extensive knowledge as a fan base with some wisdom about the rules as well.  It could also have a small mitigating effect on the number of threads that get hijacked or tangent-ed by a discussion of the rules.

My thoughts:

No need for an entirely new category. Wouldn't be used much and many questions would still come up in the Al.

Are there any rule interpretation questions you have right now?

Call it, "You Make The Call" or "The MU Situation Room".

I'd be fine if you started a topic on it on the Hangin' at the Al board.  I don't think this would call for it's own board altogether.
