Title: Buzz Williams Radio Show Questions
Post by: mu_hilltopper on January 22, 2013, 10:42:52 PM
While Homer has varying time to ask Buzz questions .. add questions below, and perhaps Homer will get to them at some point during the season.

The show is on Tuesday nights, 540am, and the podcast is available on espnmilwaukee.com a few hours after the show.

With the coming of the new conference next year or the year after, the assumption is a smaller league with less conference games.  How will this change your scheduling philosophy our of conference?  Are you still going to be held to 16 or so home games to drive revenue for the program, or will you entertain a few more home and homes against quality opponents with the additional openings likely to occur with a less conference games.

Thank you

After UConn, Georgetown and  Pittsburgh is there a clear defined answer as to when you will foul to force the free throws when leading by three? Felt like the lesson was against Georgetown, but the situation repeated itself against Pitt.

How is the way the conference schedule is laid out, two separate weeks off early, lots of games late, affecting your preparations?

Which of your former MU players (and any of your current players)would make a great coach someday? Why?

Also, has MU ever explored the Euro basketball scene for recruiting in recent years? The skill level is constantly improving as is the competition. And considering the players we now have overseas, you'd think there'd be some name-dropping of prospects. What are the pros and cons of recruiting Europe?

Thanks, Buzz and Homer!

Fans tend to put the most emphasis on the NCAA tournament results when gauging how successful a season was.  As a head coach, which criteria is most important for you when assessing the season?

Knowing that you (Buzz) can't comment on specific schools potentially joining the conference from great distances, my question is:

How much does travel affect the kids? What kinds of trips have been the hardest (in his eyes) on the team's play? Is it a Southern Florida game on a weeknight? A weekend shot out to Bristol? Or, is it the early-season out-of-the-continental-48 tournament?

Thank you

Being from Texas and obviously musically inclined, are you a big fan of Stevie Ray Vaughan or the Fabulous Thunderbirds music?

Jimmy Butler has brought your brand of basketball to the NBA and has become a Bulls fan favorite.  Can you leverage his success for recruiting efforts in the Chicago market?

Homer wrote that he'd take questions on the next show .. it'll skip next week due to travel to USF, though.

Keep your questions coming.

What are the chances Vander tries to go pro after this season?  Does it seem likely, or are you expecting him back next season?

Did you have a full team practice late wed night? If true, was that an impromptu practice or was that scheduled after a few days off?

What's the deal with John Dawson? It seems everything you read or hear forgets to mention him and only focuses on the Milwuakee 3 plus trey J. Have they all gotten a chance to meet and is he a PG or SG?
