Actually, my first inclination was to agree with this sentiment. Then I reconsidered, checked the "more than 50 hours" option, and felt good about myself. After all, that's less than 10 minutes a week for the last 8.5 years. Obviously, I don't have a problem.

Login time is calculated east tone you visit. Whether you check for 30sec or 15 minutes, it still adds 15 minutes to your total. if someone spent all day on scoop, and another checked scoop every 10 to 15 minutes they'd end up with the same login time.

I believe the minimum time it will clock you at is 15 minutes for a single login. If you stay in longer than 15 minutes, it should clock how long you are in, thus not all totals will be in increments of 15 minutes.
