Title: Nobody told Kentucky Player That He Was Going to the NBA
Post by: TallTitan34 on April 08, 2010, 03:47:58 PM
Kentucky announced Wednesday evening that its five underclassmen stars were each NBA-bound, it was a splashy release designed to show would-be recruits that plenty of playing time was available next season.

Only problem: One of the five underclassmen hasn't officially decided he's leaving yet.

In maybe the most bizarre twist, Kentucky officials stood by what was in their release, insisting that Patrick has decided to leave.

I thought this was going to be an article from The Onion.  The fact that it's true makes it even funnier.

Funny how the mother says no decision has been made, but when he does, they will have a press conference, and it will "be his day."

Sounds to me like mother Patterson is pi$$ed off because her moment won't have as bright of a spotlight as she had hoped.

Or that Patterson was shoved out of the spotlight by Wall, Cousins & Calipari.

Actually, I think Patterson is a junior who would be returning for his senior year, so three years of experience.
The Another funny thing is, he's more NBA ready than the other four.

I think 95% of fans would love to be that laughing stock.  I don't applaud how they get there, but their results are impressive.  Laughing stock is not how I think most fans would describe it.

Since he already tested the waters, he can't test them again.  His family and coaches really need to talk to NBA people before he makes that decision. He may be a first round lock, but how high? Would coming back a year increase his value? His coach should be helping his family determine this instead of already pushing him out the door. If I were his parent, I would be a little pi$$ed too.
