Post by: Mayor McCheese on January 23, 2007, 10:43:35 PM
thats on TV correct, or is that just internet feed.... may be a dumb question, but I may as well ask this before I go treading off to a local sports bar in Platteville only to find out the game is not on TV

Did anyone keep that URL so people can watch the Seton Hall game on ESPN 360 for free? Someone posted it on here about a month ago for a Wisconsin game and people thought that we could do the same for future Marquette games. Did anyone keep that URL? I will be going to the game, but I know my bro in Scottsdale would like to watch it.

This is the best guess as of now - but stay tuned tomorrow night once we know for sure (if we ever do...)

Thanks.  I just read that post on page 2.  I suppose I should have looked before I asked.

Ahh...most internet providers don't.  However, if the link posted works, everyone (regardless of provider) can access it ;)

Found this on the Seton Hall site and it seems to be working for me as Windows Media Player now says stand by for the MU vs. Hall game.

What you need to do is open in Windows Media Player (sorry Apple folks, I dont know how to do it for you). Once it is open, click the file menu and select "Open URL". In the window prompt, past the following:

mms://a377.l2047330051.c20473.g.lm.akamaistream.net/D/377/20473/v0001/reflector:30051

It worked for me or at least looks like it will.

I just stickied a topic to the top.  The original link

http://proxy.espn.go.com/broadband/ebb2/asx/setonhall_012407.asx

Worked for my by using the "open url" method.

How is everyone's video quality? Mine is kind of poor - not that I am complaining - just want to make sure that I am doing this right.

Mine's tolerable. Kinda little on the big LCD, though.

Everyone might as well get use to ESPN360. MU is going to be on ESPN360 for the Rutgers and DePaul game.

I was really disappointed in the feed.  I was so excited that I would be able to watch MU on my computer.  I am sure it was mostly due to my connection speed (DSL), but it was just too choppy to watch.  The video would run for 3 seconds, then it would stop for 5-10 seconds.  The audio was mostly fine, but the video was too annoying to watch.

It was just like when I was a kid and my older brothers gave me a Christmas present in a huge box.  I was so excited wondering what it could be.  Christmas day I unwrapped the present and opened the box only to find another smaller box inside.  With each box inside of a box my excitement decreased.  Until I opened the last small box and found a $1 doller bill inside.  It sucks being the youngest.

ESPN 360 seems to be just like my present.  It looks great until you get into it.  Then it is disappointing.

I don't know which I feel worse for you about, your bad experience last night or all that work just to get a buck.  Maybe it will be better next time...all I know was watching it on my laptop in the back row of my labor law class last night, the feed was pretty darn good...couldn't really speak on the audio since I was supposed to be learning so I had to keep it muted.  ;D

Don't worry about me.  I lay the guilt trip on my brothers whenever it is to my benefit.

I feel old as you describe watching the game on your laptop in class.  Back in my day...I remember listening to the Cubs-Giants in the 1989 NLCS while sitting in the back of my Calc 3 class.  I thought it was pretty slick that my walkman was small enough to sneak into class.  I guess that is one pretty good gauge of how technology has progressed.

Damn that Will Clark.  I can still remember listening to him hit a homerun in that class.

My feed was really good.  The only problem was a little cracking in the audio maybe once every 10 minutes.
