Strange timing as the recruiting period starts today.

Cottingham says a national search will begin immediately.....allegedly.

It would be a lot easier in this situation if Marquette were the University of Michigan as all that would be necessary is to place a call to West Virginia's coach!

If this was of a personal matter, I hope she is okay.

Found this in her bio. Thought it was interesting enough to share:

"Rolf received her Federation Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) International Officiating Certificate in 2003, making her just one of 15 female international officials in the world. She has been a registered national volleyball official since 1990 and worked as a line judge in both the men's and women's volleyball competition (including the women's gold medal match) at the 1996 Summer Olympics. In the summer of 2004, she also officiated international competition in St. Petersburg, Russia, and officiated in the World Military Games. In the summer of 2005, she officiated at the 2006 World Championships Qualifying Tournament in Guatamala. In July of 2007, Rolf officiated the 2007 Pan American Games in Brazil and in June of 2008 she officiated a FIVB World League match between Finland and the United States. She has served as an official for the Big Ten Conference (1991 to 2002) and the U.S.P.V. (2000-2002).

Rolf served on the Board of Directors of the American Volleyball Coaches Association from 1995 through 1998 and has served on the organization's National Ranking Committee since 1993."

I agree with 77ncaa... i don't think this was a "forced out" situation, so i hope that everything is ok with her and her family.  I worked in the AL for a couple years and i can say that Coach Rolf was a class act all the way.  She loved her job and all her players.  I have seen very few more passionate about Marquette and their jobs.  Patti would always stop and talk to you no matter how busy she was.  If you were out on the town and ran into her, she would always come over to talk or at the least say hi and shake your hand.  Other coaches in the AL (who will remain nameless) would pass you by without even a head nod.  I'm sure you can figure out who I'm referring to.  Anyways, I wish her the best in whatever she decides to do next.

Also, i wish Erica the best in taking over the team for the last four matches.

So, Crean would ignore the little people when the cameras weren't rolling? What a shock!
