Title: Video Highlights of Madness
Post by: TallTitan34 on October 25, 2008, 10:01:08 PM
I'll be back again this season with video highlights of the televised men's basketball events.

All credit for the following videos goes to MUTV who did a great job of broadcasting the event.  Everything below is their hard work.  I hope they don't mind me showing clips of their broadcast.

That piece is called "The Culture of Coaches" and was produced, edited, and narrated by Brian Suerth, who was an outstanding director and associate producer for tonight's Madness broadcast

I'll pass it along to him. I'm glad we got a chance to do this and everyone involved did an excellent job. The executive producer, Brian Henry, worked himself into the ground prepping for this. Ritchie Donnelly, the host, Brad Galli, co-host, and myself were beneficiaries one hell of a team effort.

I'm just glad we were able to bring something pretty good to all the Alums who couldn't make it down to the Al.

Great stuff, MUTV and thanks TT for posting.

Hey .. is it pronounced "Ful-say" or "fulce" (as in Pulse)?

Also, I want to give mad credit to Leif Brostrom for running the instant replay and making it look flawless.

Re: Fulce/Ful-say, we began the day under the impression that it was Fulce like pulse, but after he was announced my AP told me it was Ful-say.

I'm thinking Ful-say is the right pronunciation.

Looks like the entire broadcast is archived directly from Marquette All Access.  Click the following link, and go to "Free Events"

jficke13, I saw most of it online (I'm in Colorado) and it worked out great.  There was one point - right when Buzz went to show the boot camp video that the whole thing crapped out (and based on the other thread - it seems everyone had this problem), but after restarting all access I connected again.  Kudos to you guys for giving access to those not on campus, and unable to make it.

we did our best to not just throw something up and be content, we set our bar high and aimed for perfection. obviously, the combination of us being students, our equipment being less than perfect, and the delivery mechanism of streaming online means that glitches can and did happen, but our initial impression was that it went pretty well. hopefully people check it out, enjoy what we put together, and keep coming back to get some insight into the bball team because that's why we're here.

good to see hoops back on the screen.

good work MU students!
nice stuff represented in these clips- packages, interviews, commentary.... the experience I'm sure was incredible for you all.

well-presented by MUTV!

will be seeking out the full-monty on the website so I can watch the entire event.

good work, and thanks again!

I'm having a ton of problems accessing Marquette's All-Access ... If you could host just the scrimmage part of Madness, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Dangit, I knew he was too good to be true.    So you're saying he's French?

GREAT JOB, MUTV!   Thanks for the effort!

jficke13, I think on a previous post prior to "Madness" you said the equipment was state of the art, but most recently you say the equipment is "less than perfect."  Could you please clarify?  Regardless, the production was VERY impressive and much appreciated.

We have much better equipment in the studios at Johnston than we can bring over to the Al for remote broadcasts. The stuff we used to put together the Madness broadcast was by no means bad, but the newer stuff is in Johnston.

Yes - and if you click that link it will install "Silverlight".  Once that is complete, hit F5 (refresh) in your browser and you can watch the all-access videos  ;D

I'm not a huge fan of installing extra players on my computer - but this is worth it for MU Basketball coverage/exclusive video.
