Yes - wholly agree with the Cyclops. Spot on. ;D :o
maybe that is why Brian Wardle was the top rated recruit he ever signed :(
Ahem. Anyone recall a fella named Jarrod Lovette?

100% accurate. I have two children that play HS athletics. It is really pathetic to see some parents and their actions regarding their children. The saddest part about it is that they do not let their children simply enjoy the sport...being part of a team...playing a sport you love... If it all about the scholarship, or all about the winning, I think that is the wrong message for most HS athletes out there.
It doesn't start in high school. I have witnessed fans attempting to overrule the coach from the stands in 6th grade, catholic league, girls basketball. Not parents of the team I was coaching, but fans of the other teams. Not to mention the the way they treat a $15 a game college freshman reffing for the first time.
This was a little bit before my time, so what's the story with Lovette? Was Wisconsin ever seriously interested?
I used to coach a grade school sport and the parents were brutal. They wanted to coach b ut did not want to volunteer the hours and hours that it took - but they had an opinion about everything - "you took my kid out at the wrong time," "you don't play my kid enough," etc. I was accosted by 2 fathers once, who blocked my way out of the gym after some matches. Not fun.
The "Positive Coaching Alliance" exists to educate coaches and parents above sports and behavior, goals and more. Great organization. Check them out at http://www.positivecoach.org/ I've been a member for a few years, and support the org. It is on the right track. They now go to schools who choose to particiapte and train the coaches, etc. good stuff.
