OK, now that we've got the game info at the top of the page, it's hitting me that the FIRST game of the year is only a couple days away! Albeit exhibition, but nonetheless, it's a game!
However, does anybody know anything about the Cardinal Stritch team? Ok, I know they're NAIA, Div II and I found this quote about their coach interesting:
Quote[Coach Dennis Fox] is nationally respected as a recruiter and a developer of post players. As of spring 2006, Fox has never had a season without a post player being selected to an all-conference team.
Could that be a reason they were scheduled? Even if the game isn't a fair match-up in the backcourt, Crean figured it would give the frontcourt guys some good practice?
Stritch plays on Saturday (against East-West of Chicago) so in talking with Coach Fox recently, he was VERY concerned about playing MU the day after playing another game.
Three starters back from a team that went to the second-round of the NAIA Division II national tournament last season.
I would say a middle of the pack team if they played in the WIAC. In other words, something similar to what UW will face tonight vs. UW-Stout.
I'll be at the game .. my wife wanted me to pick just one of the exhibition games (Yeah, I know Hilsdale is technically not an exhibition..) .. So watch this space for a couple freebies coming your way next week.
