Title: Marquette Basketball Playstation Themes
Post by: Gwaki on August 04, 2008, 07:06:34 PM
I am currently working on the rest of the themes but before I post anymore I need to make sure everything looks good from the eyes of others.  The file is located at the link below.  To use it you must either click on the link using your PS3 web browser or put it on a flash drive/memory stick that you can plug into your PlayStation.

If you use the flash drive memory stick way you must create a new folder labeled PS3 on it.  Then inside that folder another labeled THEME.  Then using the theme settings page in the PS3 menu you can install it.  Please post all impressions and everything for me.

Also for the background images I am using MU_Crew's images.  I do plan on making one with the schedule background when it is released.

Thanks

Hell yes....many of us own a PS3.  And since Blu Ray won the format wars over HD DVD (that's what XBOX supports), it's become a very smart investment since Blu Ray is the format of PS3 (also means more information on a disc and better potential games due to the extra data that can be put on there.)

Predictions are that PS3 will outsell XBox this year

Great theme by the way for the PS3...I'll try it out tonight.

On XBox Live you can get a pretty good Marquette Theme from the College Hoops 2K8 downloads.

The sidemenus all have the background of hardwood floors, and the different screens have a background of animated Wes dunking, the Golden Eagle on the court, the Bradley Center, and the MU monogram.

I was under the impression that Xbox was working on incorporating a Blu-Ray player into its new 360 consoles and working on an external player for those who already have the system.

I'm sure they are, they're going to have to because HD DVD is DOA.

That's awesome. But seriously, McCheese, Wii has no quality games. I still like mine, but...

Clealry you have not played Mario Kart or Guitar Hero on the Wii.  Those are the only two reasons to own one.  And of course when the lightsaber Star Wars game comes out

Mario Kart. Yes. Galaxy, yes. Zelda, Yes. All Nintendo games are great. Tiger Woods 2k9 will be great. Outside of those realms, there not much else.

GH Wii < GH 360.

If you knwo anythign abotu Gaming, RPG sales drive the industry toward either system. Square soft has decided to publish Final Fantasy on both consoles. SO my guess is you see 360's continue to sell better, and even have high sales in Japan. Unless you are obsessed with Metal Gear Solid.

It looks great on our HD tv.  My son went bonkers over it because I put the theme on when he was in his room and when he came down to play I heard him say "AWESOME.  Dad, check out the PS3"

I know plenty about it....we have an entire gaming division at work.  Guys that used to work at Activision, EA, Blizzard, etc.  In fact we're getting ready to do a pay per view on Blizcon (seriously, people buy this stuff).

I still expect PS3 to out sell XBOX this year for a number of reasons, including that it is a Blu Ray machine that many customers will pick up for that reason alone...no gaming at all.

Good Point I stand Corrected. but Microsoft is now developing a Bluray add on as well. For guys like me who couldn't wait for the PS3 not to cost 700 bucks.

I agree.  I think the price of the PS3 will keep people away.  Until the price drops I think 360's will outsell PS3.

The PS3 is only $399 or $499 depending on what version you get.

The XBOX 360 is $299 or $449 depending on what version you get.   Add in the Blu Ray add on device, and it will be every bit as much as the PS3 cost.....plus the PS3 hasn't had any major recalls like the XBOX.   ;)

I know but I recently just bought a Xbox360 knowing full well the Blue-Ray player was in the PS3.  Of course I also got it so I could play my old Xbox games as well.

The $150 or so difference was enough for me to go with the 360 as a college kid.

While those out of school with secure jobs would lean towards the PS3, I think high-school and college kids would tend to lean towards the Xbox360.

Games more than price. PS3 is not good for game developers.
