Title: IUPUI's George Hill
Post by: mviale on June 28, 2008, 12:54:16 AM
He went in the 1st round.  I know some on the board questioned our team's ability to guard him when we won a squeaker against IUPUI.

Interestingly, when he was drafted, the entire highlight montage minus one clip, I believe, was from his game at the Bradley Center.  This is probably partially due to the fact that he didn't play too many televised games.

George Hill is a legit talent.  It will be interesting to see how he fares in the league.  The Spurs know how to draft, and so to me, that foretells good things for Hill.

I'm predicting that McNeal has a big year(this includes showing he can effectively play some PG) and sneaks into the end of the 1st round in next year's NBA draft. His play at the end of last season was big time. I believe he'll build on that and put it all together this coming year.

Well i hope that Buzz is smarter than to experiment with McNeal at PG with a team that is expected to compete for the BE title.

The time to have done that is when he was a frosh and then gradually work him in at some PG, which is what i suggested at the time.

IMO meaningful minutes in PG experimentation would dilute his production this year.

Key for Jerel is to improve his decision making, shooting, going left,  and keeping his head up when handling the ball. Those skills adapt to any guard position. PG in the NBA is different then college due to all the skilled players.  I don't see Buzz or the team playing JM at pg if it takes away from the quality of team play.
