Title: NBPA Scouting Report - Maymon
Post by: drbeauch on June 23, 2008, 12:12:55 PM
Nice write-up (and picture) on Maymon by ESPN reporter coming out of last Friday's afternoon session...comments on Cadougan as well.

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/recruiting/basketball/mens/news/story?id=3455622

"Maymon has very long arms and good strength which he uses to get offensive rebounds and finish in traffic. He has the ability to finish with either hand when he gets into the paint. He will have to improve his ball-handling and jumper, but he will occasionally nail a perimeter shot. Maymon has the frame and physical nature to develop into a Ron Artest type of physical, bruising wing presence."

The kid is a sud. Again, this was the recruit Buzz needed to get along with PG and Wilson.

Ron Artest physique and game, huh?

Haven't had that from a SF/PF since Faisal, I'd say.

Yep.  That is what I like about him.  He plays real physical, but also has some offensive game on the inside.  We haven't had a player like that since Robert Jackson.

I'd say he seems to more fit the mold of Odartey Blankson.  I haven't seen the kid play, just basing it on frame and what i've gleaned from numerous write-ups.

ODB had a better outside game from what I can remember of the drunken games I attended while he was at MU.

that;s funny.  I don't have much of a memory of ODB either.  I don't have any money left from that era either.

He also played on the same team as Maymon, so I'm sure Maymon was in his ear about coming to Marquette.
