"Police: Things get ugly at California gas pumps... "
Too funny....the line there is like the days of the Carter Administration....long. So I can understand why this LaPalma doctor got fired up (though I also think he should have gotten arrested). We're at $4.49 here now for 87 octane, highest in the nation...that COSTCO sells it for $4.33 as of yesterday.
The COSTCO is in the town of Cypress (famous for Tiger Woods growing up, Los Alamitos Race track, Yamaha and a ton of commercial businesses on Katella)...I'm sure this is about as much fun as the Cypress police have had in awhile.
I'll have to bring a taser next time to one up the doctor. ;)
Here's the actual article. Looks like it's the beginning of Mad Max!

QuoteCYPRESS, Calif. (AP) - Violence broke out at the gas pumps in Orange County. Police say a La Palma doctor waiting in line to buy gas at the Costco warehouse store in Cypress grabbed a tire iron and confronted a motorist who cut into the line.
Sgt. Tom Bruce said the doctor was arrested and booked for investigation of brandishing a deadly weapon in a rude, angry or threatening manner, a misdemeanor.
Witnesses told police the doctor was in line at the pumps Monday evening when another vehicle cut in front of him. When the doctor confronted the motorist with a tire iron, the other driver locked himself in his car and called police.

We were joking about Mad Max last week. Though honestly, I don't think this article really has much to do with the price of gas, more to do with some jag that decided to cut in line. A part of me is rather happy with the doctor for sticking up for himself, though I think he should have said his peace without the tire iron and grabbed the gasoline attendant and raised hell with him for allowing it.
I guess it depends how long the good Dr was waiting in line, and, whether or not the 'cuttee' had a baaaajrs bumper sticker on his car.
Ah! "Almost" vigilante violence!
And they say Asians are mild-mannered! HA! ;)
(I'm part Asian btw)
