Meet the Buzz Family...

Pip on Fox6 does a 4 minute piece on Buzz and his family.
Sorry about the "STORM CENTER" border. The weather in Milwaukee has been crazy these past 48 hours. 6-8 inches of rain will do that.

I loved the interview, it was a really good piece.
However, I was stumped by the editorial decision to do this in early June during the absolute lull of the college basketball season. And when school is over and all the kids have scattered. Would it have made more sense to do this immediately after he was named HC? Or, right before the season starts? Who is looking for this in early June?

I too loved the piece. To answer your question, perhaps this is a lull time for Buzz so he had time to work with the journalist here. In other words, perhaps Buzz only courts the media when there are not things to do like, hire assistant coaches, recruit players, and other things to build the program. It seems Buzz handles the media well but he does it on his own terms.
I'm sure Buzz didn't court fox6-
perhaps someone in MU PR kept the feelers out there and timing clicked.
we're post May sweeps- a bit of a dead time... not sure when this was shot, but could have been in the can for a while.
regardless of how busy Buzz 'may' be, I'll assure you that the piece didn't take up more than :30 of his time, shot at his convenience.. doesn't take much to set up those 4 chairs on the coaches home floor, and shoot some broll of him playing with his kid then knock out 8 questions with the family.
chances are that this has been in the hopper, either shot or planned to shoot, for a while, and the news director had the assignment director to get it going and on the air.
perhaps fox is doing a series of sorts on fathers in sports leading up to fathers day--- don't watch that station if I can help it so I wouldn't know that for sure.
Buzz does seem like a calm, grounded guy... likable and hardworking.
We found the PG we need:

And if it doesn't work out on the floor, she's still pretty damn cute!
