The 24th Annual Chicago Golf Challenge will take place on Monday, June 16th at River Forest Country Club in Elmhurst, Illinois, with the proceeds to benefit the MU Chicago endowed scholarship fund. This fund is the largest MU alumni scholarship fund in the country and gives deserving Chicagoland students assistance with their education at Marquette. We provide over $25,000 annually in four-year scholarships thanks to the support of Golf Challenge participants!
This year, former Green Bay Packer and current MU Senior Associate Athletic Director George Koonce will provide attendees with an Athletics update. Our keynote speaker will be Jim Boylan, NBA coach and former member of the 1977 MU National Champtionship team.
Those interested can register for golf or cocktails/dinner only at http://www.alumni.marquette.edu/ng/IACPages/cgianyactivities_dll_show/tabid/3553/Default.aspx?id=687&bid=&template=event_register.htm (or go to MU.edu, click on alumni, click on calendar/events, click on event registration, scroll down to June 16th) and can contact Theresa Nemetz at 414-288-4768 or theresa.nemetz@marquette.edu for further information.
One of our scholarship recipients best demonstrates the impact of the funds raised from the Golf Challenge:
It is with no exaggeration that I say this scholarship has been absolutely necessary for me to attend school at Marquette University. Financially, an education at Marquette was out of reach for me until I received this generous donation. The funding provided by the MU Club of Chicago has been invaluable in allowing me to pursue the superior education that Marquette provides. --Steven Little, current Marquette student
Thanks in advance for your support!
