Post by: nyg on June 02, 2008, 09:11:48 AM
Per previous threads, Varez Ward, who mentioned MU as a possible school, signed with University of Texas.

I would definitely bank the 2008 schollie now.  He was the only rumored player that I was interested in for 2008.

Is now being investigated by the FBI for point shaving at Auburn.  (He transferred there from Texas.)

Was Wesley Johnson an actual transfer candidate for us back then?

Ha!  First thing I thought.  I'd never heard his name before he busted out at Cuse.

wesley Johnson was  a definite possiblity until Syracuse got involved.  Wow good thing Ward went elsewhere, but by all indication the games mentioned makes no sense that there was point shaving.  hope its not true.

Agreed. From the rundown I saw in the questionable games, this is going to have to be an issue decided by an abundance of off court evidence.  Considering he didnt even play in one of the games (accusation is evidently a faked injury) they dont exactly look definitive.
