I do.  One, I like being ahead enough that he gets time.  Two, who doesn't root for the underdog at least some of the time?

Interesting little note about the Oakland game.  Mrs. Oldgym is about the best wife a guy could ask for.  As an early christmas present, she tells me to get my MU gear on, we're going to the game...and sitting courtside.  Turns out we're in row 1 just behind the scorer's table and within conversation distance of TC.  Kuphall and Brice are crouching there with a minute to play.  Kuphall goes in as someone - Lazar I think - about to shoot FTs.  He misses the second one and Brice is still sitting there.  The nearest official blows the whistle for a lane violation on Lazar, then turns to Crean, shrugs, and points to Brice.  "I wanted to make sure he got in the game."  TC nods.  It's cool.

If I read that correctly, the REF wanted Brice in the game?!?

Shame on you TC of not being THAT considerate!

Negative.  TC put Brice at the scorer's table, but he was awaiting a dead ball to sub in.  Had the ref not called the LV, the game might have ended with Tommy still sitting there.

Me and my buddy at the game wondered if the ref blew the whistle on purpose there, good to know some refs actually care about the little things.  Now if only we could get the walkons to shoot the ball once they're in the game.

Very cool story about the ref.  I had been wondering if Lazar had commited the violation on purpose to get Tommy in.  Either way, glad he got some PT.
Title: End of UConn Game

Didn't the ref randomly stop the end of the UConn game last year so Novak could come out?  I remember something like this happening.

When Higgins and Hightower ref, this is not a problem.  Every play has a potential foul on MU, it's just a matter of when they are going to call it, and what they are going to make up.
