If this is true, God bless this kid.  I was already rooting for Davidson, now I will really root for them.

Great to see top prospects spurning the big, deep pocket, state schools.  Great stuff.

I always have to laugh when I hear people not liking the private schools because they are elitist.  What a joke... guys like Boone Pickens throwing money like crazy towards their state schools, the seeded tax payer money, the automatic state school media coverage.

It's like saying I hate the Kansas City Royals because they are so elitist.  Ohh... but those Yankees, now there is a team for the common man.   ?-(

By the way, no disrespect to the Yankees in my argument... but I tihnk we can all agree they are no cinderellas.

The only reason I dislike state schools is because of Madison.

Why would you hate Madison?

Why would you hate Madison?

terrible graduation rates, regularly have athletes have run-ins with the law, big state school that thinks they're all that and a bag of potato chips when they are in fact a good research school but are not so good when it comes to actually giving their students an education, hippy liberal douches prancing around campus, shall i go on??  ;D

Madison folk, students, residents, etc., are all convinced of UW-Madison's greatness. There is not one thing that it does that another institution cannot do better. Harvard, MIT, UCLA, Cal-Tech, just a few of the universities that wallop their academic programs. UCLA, Duke, Michigan, Ohio St., just a few that wallop their athletic programs.

Madison lovers speak of it like it's God's gift to mankind and its far from it.

Of course it isn't that.  It's a big, public reaserch University.  And that's what it is.

I just think it's silly that MU fans talk about hating Madison so much, when I doubt you'll find any MU hatred on the Badger board.  It just sounds pathetic to me.

All of my HS friends desperately wanted to go to Madison and spoke of it like they would be ascending the Holy Mountain. They are delusional.

I don't get into hating Madison or UW.  It's a great university, very solid.  But when we recruit basketball players, or when we play them - I want to kick their a$$es all the way to the Mississippi.

Now ND, that's another story. . .

Have you been to either of their boards? I doubting you have by the naivety of your statement.

Yep.  I am there quite a bit, but almost always during football season.

Check out the basketball boards. There is no lovefest for MU - usually just cuts.

Uh oh.  Looks like we've got a half-badger on our hands.

"But I'm only a fan of the football team!!!"

Well, if it must be known...  My dad did his graduate work at MU and was a huge Marquette basketball fan, but he also was a Badger football and hockey fan too.  I am the same.  I grew up in Madison and went to Marquette for undergrad.  I have no affinity at all for UW-Madison outside of their football and hockey teams.  I get to about one football game and maybe two hockey games a year, and about a dozen MU games.

If that makes me less of a fan in anyone else's eyes, than that's their problem....not mine.
