It appears Jeronne Maymon may be a priority for MU in '09...
Mark Miller wrote the following about Buzz recruiting Maymon on the Badjer Scout Board

"Barnes hit a last-second shot to lift his Iowa AAU squad to a victory while playing up a division in the 17U bracket. Barnes' shot overcame a 30-something performance from Jerrone Maymon of Madison Memorial. Look for new Marquette coach Buzz Williams, who trailed Maymon all day Saturday in Akron, to make a strong push for Maymon."
Does anyone know if Vander Blue plays on the same team as Maymon?
Also, does anyone have an update on where Jeronne stands academically?
Per Rivals from the Real Deal camp regarding Maymon....
What position does he play was a question mark that followed him around last weekend in Arkansas, but what wasn't in question was his sheer production. The 6-foot-7 combo forward just got things done. Maymon was sensational against Seattle Rotary in a terrific game. He approached the 30-point range in front of a gym full of coaches.
His best work was done in the paint but showed some improvement as a wing player. His bread and butter is in the post and his energy, muscle and motor will make him a difficult player to defend at the next level.

After watching him absolutely dominate in the state tourney, this is great to see. I hope the concerns about academics get straightened out, because there would be nothing better than to have a stud out of Madison (who Bo cooled on) terrorize the rodents for four years. :)
It's interesting who Buzz is bringing in.
First, Crean was bringing mostly guards aboard.
Now, Buzz is bringing mostly forwards.
Doesn't bode well for Wilson, but it's a change.
