As the stomach turns, none other than Kelvin Sampson now turns up as a Bucks assistant coach according to ESPN.com.
Probably has our prick former coach on his Fave 5.
Wow, unbelievable. I guess Skiles must've had some sort of a relationship with him, given that the story said it's him that wants Sampson. At least he can call and text all he wants now...
Blech.
Sampson should NEVER be allowed to coach AGAIN!
Kelvin can coach 'em up...I don't think he needed to cheat, I just think he spent enough time in the Big 12 that it became second nature.
He can coach and he'll be a good aid for Skiles.
IMO his only character flaw is being "tight" with TC.
"Tight" is in " " b/c I bet a lot of these coaches realized the tool this MFer was but also knew that he had Bilas, Katz & Davis sewn to his backside, so they became friends with him for the few possible positive press opps.
There are some benefits to Marquette with having Sampson down the street with the Bucks. Trust me on this one. With the changes in the Bucks staff this re-enforces Marquette's entry card with an NBA team. Sampson is an outstanding coach and is plugged in with a lot of coaching talent.
Maybe Sampson and Crean can just swap houses.

All the Crean/Sampson bashing aside, Sampson can coach. It's also fair to say he's not getting a second shot at college anytime soon. If he's ever going to get back into coaching, it's probably via the pro's. Let him be an assistant and teach the game. He doesn't have to worry about rules regarding who to call and when.
I'm not saying what he did was right, but if you're Sampson this is a good move. And again, I don't think anybody would argue about his coaching ability. he's a good coach.
