Title: UW game .. free?
Post by: mu_hilltopper on December 16, 2006, 09:33:09 AM
Saw this on eBay .. selling tickets to Syr, Prov, Rutgers.  That's 3 of the 5 blue plan 5 packs.  Any doubt that he's a UW fan who bought a 5 pack ($125), saw the UW game, and is now selling the other seats for ~$125/each .. great.

If he succeeds, it means the 5 packs are actually giving UW fans the opportunity to buy 5 packs, sell 3 of the good games, and basically see the UW/MU game for free.  Nice deal.  No wonder there were so many UW fans at the game!

And here's another one that caught my eye.  .. $225 for 4 tickets to MU/Oakland.  Ok, yeah, it's behind the MU bench, so they are good seats. (If the players aren't standing and blocking your view).  But $55 a ticket?   It's Oakland.  You could buy uppers and walk down to a sea of blue empties.

Not an uncommon practice.  Back when the Bulls had Jordan and were going for titles every year, I knew of two inidividuals who had Bucks season tickets lower level and they would sell all of their Bulls games and basically ended up getting a large majority of the rest of their tickets paid for.  Bulls fans paid huge dollars.  Just imagine if Iverson goes to the Bulls this year as rumored.

EBay just makes it easier to do it these days for any sporting event.  If the rumors are true that some lower level UW-MU tickets went for $200 to $400 a ticket, than we should definitely go try to schedule the big guns.  I might be able to afford season tickets and if I can sell 3 to 4 games against quality opponents and get a large portion of my tickets for free.  ;D
