But here's the one that might make the best laughter....at UI there is a thread mocking the IU hire. Enjoy

I love how everyone focuses on his 14-17 UNO record (13-17 div 1). However, when you know that he didn't have any of "his" recruits yet and the previous years team went 10-19 (8-19 div 1) -- it seems he did a good job. Got 5 more wins over Div 1 teams with the same players. Decent improvement.
Here's what I don't understand about his tenure at UNO - why did he leave so soon?
He told us today in his press conference that he doesn't care about his reputation, only his character. How does one who values strong character leave a school after one year in a community ravaged by Hurricane Katrina? The facilities weren't repaired soon enough? The crowds were too small? What about his tireless work ethic?
I guess one of the main reasons I'm not too excited yet about Buzz is his abrupt departure at UNO.
something about a new arena
While doing an internet search trying to find out what type of offense/defense Buzz runs, I ran across many articles/posts regarding this issue. Some were from the NO Times-Picayune site (the local paper). Sounds like the university did not keep their end of the bargain in regards to what Buzz signed up for. Many UNO fans commented on the great recruiting ability by Buzz and his top assistant MOnarch (who may join Buzz by the way) despite the dire conditions of UNO and their terrible facilities. I get the feeling there was some discontent between Buzz and the president over what Buzz felt like he was promised and what was actually delivered.

But Rocky, the next guy came in this year and won 19 games at UNO. With the same players.

Yes - and that's decent improvement too. (Just to be fair, it's only 17 wins over div 1 conpetition). My point wasn't that he came in and turned them into a powerhouse. In one year - who could. But rather, he was given a really bad team - and made them better. It 's not like he was a complete flop that took a .500 team and made it worse. They won 50% more games under his watch.
If we can win 50% more games next year, MU will win the national championship (yes, I'm kidding on this) ;D

Great input-When I'm looking for some solid analysis I usually go to a message board first. One-sided fans always have the best insight!
I agree it wasn't a great hire. After all, we supposedly hired Buzz so we can keep our recruits, and by the looks of it, we're about to lose our top two (at best). Either way, a fan from an opposing school (who most likely doesn't like Marquette) is not the best to turn to.
Then again, they're not exactly quaking in their boots either.

Sorry to change the subject, but did you ever find anything? I appreciate that he wants to be known as a winning guy, but I am interested to know how he intends to get there. I am particularly interested in how he feels about defense. Looking at the small sample/rather meaningless stats from his 1 year at UNO, I have some concerns.
