Didn't Buzz recruit Taylor? If that's true, how could they "not know this guy that well"? Correct me if I'm wrong please.
If I was going to place a bet on it, I'd wager TT is going to be released, but I'll hope for the best.

It was my understanding that Hurley called Crean and suggested Taylor because Hurley and Crean are fairly tight (that was a good contact to know for Crean, afterall Hurley's team just won the USA Today national title). At any rate, I think Buzz was involved in the recruiting but the relationship was Crean and Hurley's.

Alright, thanks.
Guess we'll find out quick what kind of credibility Buzz has pretty quickly. If he can salvage this recruit in light of the other schools that have jumped in it would be a big boost for the program. In reality, it would probably give it the boost one would have hoped today's press conference would bring.
It's going to be a tough sell for Williams under the circumstances, so it's not his fault if it doesn't pan out. Kind of a nothing to lose but lots to gain proposition for him.
Hope Buzz can work his magic...although I would personally prefer Nick Williams over Taylor if the choice had to be made...I'm definitely hoping both still come, though.
Then we'd have three Williams...s on the team going into 2009-2010 with Buzz, Nick, and Erik.
Yeah well Hurley's boy Crean just crapped all over Taylor by signing him then leaving. If I was Hurley or Taylor I wouldn't be very happy about that.
I don't think Taylor will end up at Marquette. He and Hurley just seem to have already moved on.
If MU loses Nick Williams too, then this is not that great of a recruiting class, especially compared to the competition in the Big East.
Hate to say this but two years from now could be really ugly for MU because we have not kept pace with the rest of the top of the Big East in recruiting since Crean signed the Three Amigos.

Considering who has called to offer Taylor, I don't think they are truly concerned about that. Florida, Texas, Kansas, Michigan, Virginia, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, St. Joe's and Houston
I also think that when Taylor committed he thought that James would be gone and maybe Mcneal. He talked about teaming with Aker when he committed. If james and NcNeal are staying along with Aker and Culliban he may be thinking about playing time.
I've seen both Taylor and Nick Williams play several times. There is no question in my mind that Taylor is much better at this point than Williams. Williams is a lazy player that has not been groomed by a very good coach. His team was loaded with talent and were very undisciplined and a mess to watch. Taylor is a very polished player that will be a great college player. I don't care about that much about Williams.

I think keeping Trevor is more important than TT. We really need Trevors size upfront. We will be really thin if he goes.
If it means kissing old man Hurley's buttocks, then let TT go. No player is worth that.
