After a nine-month stint as an assistant coach at Marquette, Brent
"Buzz" Williams was introduced today as the men's basketball team's
new head coach.
Here is video of a few excerpts (http://video.ap.org/v/Default.aspx?partner=en-ap&g=ca7fb582-2b77-4e1c-aaea-a85efee4b19c&f=WIMIL) from this afternoon's news conference.

Saying the right things....good to see.
Mr. Williams, our program (and I mean our) is in your hands. Welcome to the family.
"I wanted to tell these guys first that I was their coach."
Class act move.
Crean, were you listening?
EDIT: Does "I'm a winning guy" mean "I have no clue what my style is"?
Yeah, that was a weird response to what kind of style he will play.
I take that answer to mean "I'm going to play the style best suited to the players I have."
For next year, it'll probably somewhat similar to Crean offensively, but with less sets and greater simplicity.
Defensively, I don't expect much to change, except for perhaps a bit more pressing.

Worrrd. I loved that he told the players FIRST about him being their coach. That's how it's done.
And when he said the "winning guy" thing, I literally went YEEEUH! out loud...although it was kind of a awkward/cop out answer, but I still liked his reply, haha.
If he's really the SpongeBuzz Squarepants he said he was, writing 400+ letters to coaches and all that...I'm hopin' that he'll be able to put all that knowledge to good use.
