Makes total sense...give the guy a huge contract because he's totally proven himself as a Division 1 coach. Wait...what color was the sarcasm font?
sarcasm font is GOLD!!! >:( >:(
They didn't really have a choice but to give him a long contract. Anything less would send a signal of "interim" to the current players and potential recruits.
And as well all know, contracts mean jack $hit. All contracts, no matter the length are basically year-to-year. I'm sure they're not overpaying him. I'd say maybe even less than a mil per year. I hope he uses the rest of the "savings" to recruit some 4 and 5 star high schoolers.
BTW, the boy you see in that picture woke up and started balling when I read the news aloud from the web site. A true MU fan at 3 months...
awww he is absolutely adorable!!!
We are DePaul. We are DePaul.
Thanks, warriorette. He gets it from his mom.
I don't know, I guess it's starting to set in a little more. I'm thinking this could be good. I just hope he keeps up his recruiting efforts and can keep the incoming class.
Oh yeah, and finally get some big studs in the middle.
He SHOULD be interim. This whole thing is Soderberg redux, although UW had the sense not to sign him up to a 6 yr contract.
In the short term we should be OK, as long as we still have somebody that can break down film. Buzz can't be a worse game day coach than Crean. If someone on the staff can prepare these guys as well as Crean did before game day, they can coach themselves as well or better as Crean did during the game.
