We could let Memphis in the Big East and then we would be the best conference without question. It also would allow the teams to play a 16 game schedule with no mirror games.

It is a very long shot, but definitely worth exploring. If we do inquire, hopefully Calipari'd people take a week to turn down the inquiry, rather than the 5 minutes it would normally take, otherwise our AD may be accused of "rushing things."

In all seriousness, Larry Brown looked young and full of life at the Final Four tonight. Perhaps a four year contract for Mr. Brown with a similar four year contract for Buzz as associate head coach / head of recruiting could be worked out? Brown grooms Buzz for the eventual take over....

He went to final four with UMass but they later had to forfeit the placing because of violations involving Camby. The guy is a slime ball. Will probably have violations coming to light at Memphis in the next two years.

Are you people smoking crack?

Why would John Calipari leave Memphis to coach at Marquette?

He already gets any recruits he wants.  His team dominates their league, gets an automatic NCAA bid every year...and will be playing for the NC on Monday night.

Come on people, let's try to be a little realistic here.  There is absolutely no chance whatsoever that Calipari would even entertain the thought of leaving Memphis for Marquette.  Not now, and not ever.

This thread should be titled slimeballs. Both of these guys will never be considered . THANKFULLY!

Cal is actually known as being a pretty good guy in coaching circles.  And I'm not sure how he becomes a slimeball because his star player took money from an agent.

Fr. Wild would shut the doors to the school before he would hire Calipari. The guy is slime and our graduation rate would slide towards zero.

Exactly,
Then again I'd rather have an honorable program than have John running ours...Isn't their graduation rate like 0%?  Seriously, when I was at Marquette in the late 90's SI came out with an article on D1 Basketball programs and we where in the CUSA at the time and I think Cincy and Memphis had a 0% grad rate...not 10 not 15 but 0 grad rate...no thanks, and yeah I don't think he's leaving memphis for Marquette anyways

I was running an errand at halftime and had the car radio on and Brown was interviewed at halftime.  He said he really wanted to be coaching next season.  Regardless of whether or not Buzz Williams stays, I would think the idea of playing for a guy with NBA experience like Brown would appeal to any recruit.

I doubt MU or Brown or Williams would be interested in such an arrangement, but we could do a lot worse.  I think the NBA makes more sense for Brown at this point.
