The good thing to come out of this for yound adults entering the working field is, never trust anyone in the professional world. Sadly, in the business community, no one cares about anything but themselves. Long gone are the days of integrity and honesty, today those qualities are justified by words like, "its just business".
There are a lot of people out there that do it the right way, many on this board. I know what you're saying, but I've had handshake deals with some folks that have NEVER gone sour.
Crean left for a job he thought was better. He's gone. We had 9 years of success and achieved some things we hadn't in 30 years....he's a dink for doing it the way he did, but time for MU to sack up and show they can deliver.
This is the same advice I give everyone who works for me, if a better job comes along look out for #1 and what is best for you otherwise you are selling yourself short. I do not hate Crean for leaving . I hate him for the time and manner in which he left.

Agreed, that was my point....
The difference is when the regular Joe leaves the workplace reporters aren't out there trying to scoop the story. Heck, maybe an Indiana guy leaked it to put a little added pressure on Crean. I still wonder if the story came out too fast for Coach to tell the team.
