They might as well, considering how ridiculous their suggestions have been.

Katz has pushed Mike Anderson from Mizzou and John Welch, and NBA assistant who was an also-ran at Fresno State.

Forde is suggesting Bruce Weber.

Dick Vitale is suggesting Pete Gillen.

It's almost as they think that MU is a mid-major without Crean.

I'm hoping we can shut them up with a big name hire.

The student consensus on campus is that it should be Bobby Knight or Kevin O'Neil. It's depressing how little basketball acumen some students have.

Please educate those students. Throw them some names of better candidates.

If anyone mentions the following names on campus, I believe they should be disqualified from talking about the coaching search.

Kevin O'Neill
Bobby Knight
Rick Majerus
Pete Gillen
Matt Doherty
Terri Mitchell
Bruce Weber
Terry Porter
Larry Krystowiak
Isiah Thomas
Rob Jeter
Any former/current Duke assistant
Any ESPN broadcaster (except maybe Lavin)

Personally, I think Anderson would be a good hire.  His high pressure style, I think, would work very well with the team we have coming back next year

Are you f-ing kidding me??? Andy Katz,, he's a Badger right? Yeah. Figures.

Nice list General. All media should do the same. That waste of space HOmer was talking about all those clowns yesterday.

Why is it, the flagship of MU hoops AM 540 sucks so bad compared to AM 1250? Homer's the worst. THE WORST!!

I really hope Coach K from UWGB doesn't think he's even being considered, cuz that would be a joke.

540 is light years ahead of 1250.  The D-List is the best show in Milwaukee.

Additionally what makes "The General" the final voice on who should be considered?

I'd have no problem if an ESPN analyst like Bilas or Lavin was considered and I don't think Bruce Weber is the weakest candidate either.

I don;t understand why Doherty would be a bad hire.  He was the guy who recruited May, McCants and Felton to UNC.  He was run off because he didn;t win while rebuilding, and that's just not good enough for UNC.  Give him one more year, and he probably wins the national title that roy won.  We'd do a lot worse than him.

#1 why would lavin be accetable?

#2  why is weber unacceptable, sure he had a rough patch recruiting wise the previous 2 years, but have you seen his next 2 classes?  There is some top notch talent coming in, lot of Chicago area kids on the national radar...

I was just looking on the Badger board(barf time) to see what they were talking about.  First off the bashing on the board was awful to read, especially due to their no stance on being able to talk, however they brought up Greg Gard, the assistant under Bo Ryan, and actually were agreeing it would be a good hire for MU.  ARE YOU KIDDING ME, let me puke, eat my puke, to just regurgitate it again (sorry, bit graphic).  Honestly, I almost screamed at one of my professors who was boasting that Greg was a student of his at Platteville.  I really doubt MU would look to grab a guy who would bow down to Bo in every sort of way, and be ok with being second to a worse team.  December 8 proved to UW what they needed.

I agree completely ... Steve Lavin is a joke. There is a reason why he is on ESPN.

Personally, I'm all for Bruce Weber ... He would be a terrific hire. I want a coach that has won games in a power conference and Bruce has done that. Now I know people will say, "He won with Self's players" ... True, but he won.

Look everybody here thinks Sean Miller would be a great hire ... Well, he has been winning with Thad Matta's players ... Why is their a double standard??

Bruce has turned around recruiting efforts for the Illini for '09 and '10. I don't believe he is as bad a recruiter as some make him out to be. In addition, I have always thought Weber was a poor fit down in Champaign and I believe he would listen to an MU offer.
