from the moment he set foot on campus. But I don't think I've been a bigger fan of his until this:
"When someone leaves us, we just want to rub it in."
How much do I enjoy that quote? You'll see it's made my signature, along with a quote from Brett Favre. From a Green Bay native, this is a big deal.
DJ's attitude is EXACTLY what this team needs. He, Wes, Jerel, Dwight and Lazar need to OWN this team this coming season. We saw flashes of it this past year with the fire in the huddle. If these 5 can keep that fire burning, we'll be just fine.
It's been said before, but after reading the comments of the young men wearing "MARQUETTE" on their chests, I've never been prouder to be an alumnus of this institution.
I Am Marquette, but more importantly, WE ARE MARQUETTE.
RING OUT A-F*CKING-HOYA
For what it's worth, Dwight Burke's facebook status (oh god oh god oh god) is "Dwight A. Burke is still a golden eagle, we bleed blue and gold."
Have to say the players' response so far has been impressive.
Like no other class maybe in the history of Marquette, these juniors have a real chance to really own the team. Not "take ownership" but really make the 08 - 09 squad all about them. I hope they remember how their "mentor" let them find out he was abandoning them, with one year left in their careers, through the media.
the juniors have a chance to stabilize this situation and ultimately cement their legacy as the group that defined the MU program, good luck guys!

Indeed. Time for our Triumvirate to take over!
(ironic name, btw)
Ironic indeed.
And don't be surprised if that triumvirate becomes a foursome. I think Burke is going to have a great year...especially now that we have a chance at getting a coach that will actually make a concerted effort to feed the post, instead of using big men as giant mobile screen machines.
I really felt that after the Stanford game, based on players reactions, this team would be on a mission next year. Again, it will largely depend on who becomes the next coach, but that chip they seem to have had on their shoulders continues to get bigger. Burke especially, was playing with some serious attitude. I could really see this team coming together and winning for each other and the U. The Crean situation just tossed a ton of gasoline on the fire.

Loved this line from DJ: "Marquette is bigger than any one person. Marquette is Marquette."
I hope this classy class of Marquette players stick together and return next year and prove Dominic's point - Marquette IS bigger than any one person (and even bigger than that one person's ego).
GO MARQUETTE!!
