I don't want that bum, what has he ever done without jameer nelson? Martelli got lucky.
I think he distanced himself from Providence pretty aggresively, but if he could in fact be in play, he would be the first call and top priority. Would appear to be an ideal fit. Experienced, succesful (had more success at St. Joe's, than Crean did here.), East coast ties which is a factor in the Big East, old enough that he will never leave. Plus, he's Italian. Unfortunatley, most of those are also reasons he would likely not leave St. Joe's. Perhaps a couple million bucks a year can convince him though.
Martelli is a charismatic X's and O's guy. However, very Philly. It would be a stretch for us to get him.
