What a way to depart a school that was nothing but supportive. I have zero beef with him moving on. Hard to fathom the utterly classless exit from a guy who usually handled himself well. Somewhere down the road he may regret his handling(bungling) of this episode.
I'll bet he has buyer's remorse right now. Indiana's calling! Sounded good when he got the call, and he got all excited, but now the reality of where that program is at is hitting him in the face. He'll wish he was back in MKE soon enough, just like KO did.
Last night, when this all went down, I tried to withhold judgement of Crean until I learned all the facts of the departure.
That being said, with the way that he's handled all of this, he's now entered that 7th circle of hell populated by the likes of Rich Rodriguez, Nick Saban, and Bobby Petrino.
He didn't burn it all down. We still have the AL and the Big East and good players next year that will hopefully all return.
The recruits, however, I feel we've lost.
The only thing Crean has burnt down is his reputation amoung many MU supporters. His handling of this has been poor to say the least.

You don't know how true that statement is.
Not only this year's recruits, but all of the connections and inroads made with recruits from juco to hs to 7th grade.

I may be a bit biased but neither TC nor Rich Rodriguez is on Saban or Petrino's level

that is exactly what I am referring to, his support and rep among the MU faithful. He could have left through the front door. we would have been sad, but appreciative. now, F him.

I think some of you seem to be forgetting that we actually have a coach again one day soon. He will have his own networks and pipelines, and I'd be willing to bet a very strong recruiting track record, as well as the ability to recruit kids that are already committed or have interest in Marquette. We have assistants that may well remain with the new coach. Will there be some losses or short-term ramifications? Yeah, there probably will be. Are we going to be starting from scratch? Not even close.

Very true. I have been somewhat surprised by some of the things I heard from various friends, people here, etc. All deserved in my opinion. Heck, ChicosBail Bonds called him a Deutsche Bank today I believe. That says a lot.

Not to mention the Al, chance to play in the BE in front of 18K+ for a program on the rise, etc... Crean didn't take that with him.
