in which to win? 

I mean, Crean had good years and never finished above third, did he?  That can be deflating to a coach and a daunting challenge to a prospective hire.

Crean was always the one saying how Marquette was one of three teams to get 10 wins every year in the new Big East.

I actually think that playing in the meat grinder that is the BE did play a considerable role in his decision.  Win 11 games and finish 6th of 16.  Tough.
