So far, I have seen no articles speculating on who could take the MU coaching job. Every article is about Crean landing at Indiana and what a great hire that was for them. I'd like to read what the likes of Katz, Forde and others think should take over at MU.
Here's one I came across...

Kevin Stallings is a name I haven't seen yet.
Those guys don't have the brain power to cover more than one thing at a time. Plus, the one time in 9 years, Andy Katz didn't speculate on Crean making a move. He didn't even see it coming until after it was a done deal.
Katz was asked this on ESPN last night. He said that MU will move slowly with their inexperienced AD. He said it's too early to speculate. He had no clue what MU was gonna do.
This is just another example of the bias ESPN and the rest show towards the 'name' schools. When the Indiana job opens they talk about it night and day. The Marquette job opens and its huh?
Those guys already made comments on possiblities yesterday. Katz said Mike Anderson of Mizzou and John Welch currently of the Denver Nuggets formerly the head man at Boise State and an assistant to Tark at UNLV. He then changed it at night to a non specific, "this search may take some time"
Forde already said it should be Bruce Weber.

God that would be sweet to turn the tables on the Illini after the 2003 fiasco ...
I would be interested in Mike Anderson as a candidate for sure.
Oh geez, I hope its not Weber. His voice drives me up a wall.
Mike Anderson? No way. He has no control at Mizzou. His players get shot at, in Columbia, Missouri of all places. He hasn't made a dent in that program in two years.

I hear ya on that one. I was watching gamenight yesterday, and they spent about 5 minutes talking about the impact of Crean going to IU. They made the transition to the next topic by saying:
"And of course, that leads us to discuss a coaching vacancy created today..."
And of course, they spent the next 10 minutes talking about Doug Gottleib's alma-mater, Oklahoma State.
Brilliant coverage by the 4 letter network.
What about Lavin or Fraschilla?

What about Lavin or Fraschilla?
Not only no...but HELL NO on Fraschilla.
Fired from St. John's he single handedly wrecked the UNM basketball program. No, the Lobos were not on top of the basketball world, but they were typically 20-win teams regularly appearing in the tourney. UNM fired Dave Bliss (a blessing in disguise we were to find out later) because Lobo fans were sick of one-and-done appearances in the tournament. Fraschilla was supposed to be that coach poised to bring UNM "to the next level" and actually get the Lobos into the 2nd round (and beyond). Three years later the AD had ZERO choice but to fire the guy.
Since he left it has taken all this time and Steve Alford (at $1M a year) to even begin to restore hope in that program again. People here complain about mass transfers/defections...by the time Fraschilla left, his successor at UNM had maybe one or two scholarship players on the roster. I sh!t you not.
bring on LAVIN. he has the hair to rival pitino and callapari
Lavin sux, and he has no interest in moving to Milwaukee. He is a california guy, plain and simple. He gets manicures....
Lavin has said he would like to come here if the opportunity arose actually... ::)
There are things to dislike about Lavin, but he was certainly a decent recruiter.
My 1st choice would be Travis Ford. He plays a very appealing style and would seem to have a national recruiting ability.

If nothing else, Lavin would bring Marquette an upgrade in the Coach's Wife category.

Holy crap. I thought Boehim had a trophy bride.
Damn...she's almost as hot as Mrs. BrewCity.
Mike Anderson would be great, the program is not his fault, he walked into that from the Quinn Snyder days
Well, who cares what Bilas et. al will be saying about Crean's successor. They're still going to be worshipping him...but this time at IU.
