Title: Pitt vs UW game on Saturday...RPI Impact
Post by: MUEng92 on December 11, 2006, 12:13:12 PM
Is it safe to say we should root for Pitt, since MU plays them twice rather than UW whom they only play once?

Please say yes, because it will be a lot easier on my psyche to root for Pitt.

If you are a MU fan, you cannot root for either program. However, as a college basketball fan, you have to watch the game. This is an outstanding matchup. In my mind, the RPI is a non-factor for us. Taking care of business in the Big East is what matters.

You gotta root for the conference first in non-conference games no matter who is playing and how tough it may seem.  The better our conference is, the more we can recruit with it.  I even rooted for Cinci and Louisville in the C-USA days and hated every minute of it.  If those teams weren't good, our conference was REALLY hard to promote.  Besides, I want as many Big East teams in the tourney and to win as many games in it as possible.  The more conference wins in the tourney, the bigger rev share MU gets.

Even though it makes no sense against some opponents, I always cheer for whoever is playing against the University of Moscow.
When they played Kentucky before the Pitt game I think I was one of three people in my section cheering for Kentucky.
