Team banquet next week....NO TOM CREAN

Written by: muwarrior92

The other thing Cottingham should do, next week at the team banquet, Tom Crean should not be involved at all.  Sounds petty?  Too bad.  Crean did a wonderful job in his 9 years, but you're gone now baby...dead to us.  Sorry, but you shouldn't be allowed to address this team anymore, they are no longer yours.

Time for the Three Amigos + Lazar to step up as leaders and take control of this team and program.  This is their legacy... they don't need Crean to be successful.  This is something they can own together as a team & family.  Let's support these guys and have a special run in the tourney.

I think it's safe that Crean will never show his face at MU again unless its 2010 in the NCAA tournament.

It will be a great banquet with the new coach in place.

I hope to God there isn't a coach in place in a week. No way our AD should even try to pull this together so quickly. He'll need a couple of days just to catch his breath.

Are you kidding? Sean Miller should be on a plane to MKE by Thurs. If not, FF weekend is where all the coaches will be.

If Crean can leave on a whim, we need to be able to regroup with the quickness.

No time for catching his breath...I'm sure the guy's stayin up all night tryna figure out what to do.

Talk of Sean Miller is a joke.  Miller is already close to having the recognition of Crean.  He is top ten team bound within the next two years.  He would only use MU as a stepping stone, but he is now in a position where he doesn't need us.  Get real 4ever and throw out some real names.

Hilarious that 4ever cannot come up with a better realistic option than Crean.

This is a major decision...not one that should be made by the weekend. There are going to be a lot of resumes coming through the fax machine at the Al. I expect our staff to due their job and reach a decision quickly. But, given that nobody was prepared for this they need to make a good hire before a quick hire.

Unfortunately, if IU owes us money for this thing, I doubt it's going to be arriving tomorrow via FedEx. So, it will take a few days to see what we can spend by getting donors together, running numbers, etc. We can't expect the handful of boosters that paid Crean's $1.6 million to automatically drop that kind of coin for Sean Miller. That's not how it works.
