Bashers are going to find out how wrong they were. I do not have a problem with letting Williams out of his LOI. However, I think there should be a rule that they cannot follow the coach to the new school.
I'm bashin' Crean for leavin' us in such a pickle. I appreciate what he's done up to today, but he f'worded us over.
And how could you not be upset by Williams wanting out? He was probably gonna be our best recruit coming in.
Hooray, one less stinkin' guard!

I love how everything is getting directed towards Crean bashers, I just find it interesting that all the strong Crean backers here are giving crap to the bashers, when given the situation, the guy they have been backing so strongly and hesitate to criticize, just totally fucked us over
I hope we don't let him out of the LOI. He signed to play for this team....our school is not Crean University. You know things can change and are taking that risk. If he wants to play, I think he should have to come here and then transfer if he still doesn't like it here.

As far as letting someone out of their LOI, I say not until the new head coach has a chance to meet with him. You commit to the school... not the coach.

He didn't frack anybody over (except perhaps his players and assistants). He certainly didn't do anything to "us."
It sucks, but I have a hard time blaming a guy leaving for what he in all likelihood considers a program with a higher ceiling, and one that will pay him $2 million a year. Since when did it become a crime to move up in the world?
Obviously it sucks for MU, but he didn't do it in a way that left the program hanging in any worse position than it had to be. I mean, of course it would put MU in a tough spot. There's no way he could leave without putting MU in a tough spot. But the decision was made in plenty of time for MU to find a successor, and to give that successor plenty of time to re-recruit its committments before the spring signing period ends.
Pitt survived and thrived when Ben Howland left.
Xavier survived and thrived when Thad Matta left.
There's no reason to believe that MU, if it moves quickly and wisely, can't survive and thrive now.

Definitely some truth to that which is why I just said "TOM, thanks for the 9 years but don't let the door hit you where the good Lord split you"
On the other hand, with all the Crean bashers logic the last few years, this should be an EASY hire to replace Crean who couldn't coach and couldn't recruit....a dime a dozen. I think many of the bashers are going to find out maybe that isn't the case, unless we pull a rabbit out of the hat. I'm not suspecting we do that quite frankly.
