The kid waits 3 years to play for the guy at Marquette and then 2 months before he starts workouts, the coach leaves. Not the worst problem in the world by any stretch but for an 18 year-old, that's gotta sting.

tell him "tough sh*t!"

it's one thing to ask when a coach is fired, but when the coach leaves on their own accord.... no reason to say to let them bring talent with them.

btw:  was i the only one that thought the picture of him was a mugshot?  why can't anyone smile?

relax people Mu will not be letting anyone out of any LOI's until a new coach has been hired and and had an opportunity to re-recruit the signee.  Happens every year.

You folks need to get a grip. I would simply suggest that you wait to see who the next coach is going to be before making any NIT plans. This news is hours old, what do you expect him, or any of these guys to say? Still, lets say MU lets him out of his LOI (we are over committed after all), can any of you say that the next coach won't be able tp use that scholarship for a better player than Nick Williams? Didn't think so.

I am no Crean Basher (a term I have always hated), and I will continue to acknowledge this could turn out really bad for MU, but I am also able to recognize that it could turn out really good.

I'll say that.  Who is uncommitted for next year and better than Nick Williams right now?

Maybe he means if we get a different coach who has a top-notch recruit that would like to follow him to MU

Who said anything about next year? MU will be playing beyond next season. I don't know this, but I'd be willing to bet that a player or two left K-State or asked out of their LOI prior to/when Bob Huggins arrived. The next season Michael Beasly was playing there - after huggins was gone interestingly enough. I'd say that worked out pretty well for them, wouldn't you?

Tyreke Evans is the prize recruit out there, but there's a lot of issues with him.  There's a couple of guys that originally committed to Pepperdine but were let out when their coach left, Paul McCoy and Brad Tinsley.  But Crean was already recruiting Tinsley for MU, so he would have the edge.  Terrell Holloway is out there as well. But he was an IU commit that decommitted after Sampson left and was going to wait to see who was named coach.  Given that MU was also recruiting him, he's likely a lock to go to IU.  I suppose you could count Bud Mackey as well.  He was another IU commit, but he got arrested for drug trafficking and may have to spend time in jail.

At other positions there's Wesley Witherspoon and Rashanti Harris, both top 100 uncommitted guys.  And Aterr Majok and Justin Brownlee both fringe top 100 guys.
